Eat at Home

Crafted for creativity,
Designed for sound.

Eat at Home Studios & Productions was founded on two guiding principles: a commitment to care-driven quality, and the desire to build a meaningful business together as husband and wife. What began as a shared dream has grown into a creative partnership rooted in excellence, hospitality and genuine human connection. With Sam’s technical expertise and passion for problem-solving, Lily’s dedication to creating exceptional experiences, and their mutual love of storytelling, creativity and people, Eat at Home Studios was born.

From their beginnings as art school classmates to becoming a husband-and-wife team and growing family, Sam and Lily have remained dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. Their goal is simple: to deliver work that is crafted with care, executed with precision and remembered long after the experience is over.

Founder + CEO

Sam Popkin

Sam is an audio director, engineer and editor with more than a decade of experience across professional audiobook and spoken-word production. Trained under the mentorship of Robert Kessler in a Grammy Award–winning studio, he has developed a sturdy foundation in high-end audio craft and storytelling-driven production. Since then, he has contributed to a wide range of projects, from bestselling nonfiction and celebrity memoirs to some of the most acclaimed fiction audiobooks of the past decade.

A significant part of Sam’s expertise lies in ADR and dialogue engineering for film and television. He has worked at a high level with performers across major studio and streaming productions, guiding sessions that require both technical control and a nuanced understanding of performance. He is especially valued for creating a calm, efficient studio environment where performers can deliver natural, grounded reads under tight production demands.

Raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Sam grew up in a family of entrepreneurial innovators and business owners, spanning fields from boutique kitchenware and architectural design to naturalism and luggage manufacturing. That environment fostered a practical, hands-on creative drive that continues to shape his work today.

Sam studied music, sound production and engineering at Bennington College, where he developed a unique foundation in both the technical and creative sides of audio work - and where he met his wife and business partner, Lily. Their shared creative background and collaborative mindset would later become central to their professional partnership. Shortly after graduating, Sam relocated to Katonah, New York, where he began building his career in professional audio, steadily establishing himself through increasingly complex work in recording, editing and production across a range of high-end projects.

Alongside his studio work, Sam is an accomplished musician and instrumentalist, with a primary focus on lead guitar. His playing reflects the same precision and musicality he brings to his production work, blending technical command with expressive performance. He also runs a widely viewed YouTube channel dedicated to music gear, tone exploration and note-for-note guitar covers, which has attracted millions of viewers and a dedicated global audience.

President & Studio Manager

Lily Arnell Popkin

A multidisciplinary creative, academic and professional writer, Lily’s background spans brand strategy, editorial copy and creative writing. Bridging the gap between literary craft and commercial storytelling, she has spent her career shaping distinctive voices for global brands while maintaining a strong foundation in narrative form. Her academic background informs a practice rooted in interdisciplinary thinking and a deep commitment to language, as both art and strategy. She holds an MFA and BA in Creative Writing, with additional studies in literature and music.

Raised in New York, Lily grew up under the conference table of her parents’ creative agency, where she witnessed firsthand the pace and intensity of creative work. This early exposure instilled a deep understanding of discipline, collaboration and the rigor behind effective storytelling, as well as an intuitive grasp of how creative ideas are shaped, refined and brought to life.

With roots in both Westchester County and New York City, she moved between suburban and urban environments from an early age, developing a sensitivity to contrast. Immersed in the arts throughout her upbringing, she cultivated a lasting appreciation for creative expression and a high standard for craft, voice and execution that continues to inform her work today.

In senior creative roles operating in close partnership with executive leadership, she has navigated fast-paced, high-stakes environments where precision, clarity and editorial excellence are essential. Her role in the studio is evident in the careful orchestration of comfort, hospitality and seamless logistics, all working in concert to create an environment where clients feel equally supported as they do at ease.
